This Cookie Policy ("Policy") describes how Elitarion ("we", "our", or "us") uses cookies and comparable tracking technologies when you visit or use our website and automated AI trading platform (together, the "Platform"). It explains what cookies are, which types we rely on, why we use them and how you can control your own preferences.
By continuing to use the Elitarion Platform you consent to the use of cookies as set out here. If you would rather we did not use them, you can switch them off through your browser settings or our cookie preference centre — though doing so may limit parts of the Platform.
Read this Cookie Policy alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, which together govern your use of the Elitarion Platform.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, smartphone, tablet or any other internet-enabled device) when you visit a website or use an online platform. Site operators use them widely to make platforms run more efficiently, improve the user experience and gather analytical and marketing information.
Cookies are stored locally on your device and returned to the originating site each time you come back, letting that site recognise your device and recall details about your preferences or earlier actions.
Alongside cookies we may also use comparable tracking technologies, including:
- Web Beacons (Pixel Tags): Tiny invisible images placed in web pages or emails that record whether a page was viewed or an email opened.
- Local Storage: A browser storage mechanism letting websites keep data on your device beyond a single session.
- Session Storage: Much like local storage, but limited to one browsing session and cleared once the browser closes.
- Device Fingerprinting: A way of recognising devices from a combination of hardware and software traits, used for security and fraud prevention.
- SDKs (Software Development Kits): Used inside our mobile applications to gather data on app usage and performance.
References to "cookies" in this Policy cover all of the technologies above unless stated otherwise.
2. Why Do We Use Cookies?
Elitarion relies on cookies for a number of important purposes:
- Platform Operation: To keep the Platform working correctly and reliably for everyone.
- Security: To protect accounts, spot fraudulent activity and block unauthorised access.
- Authentication: To recognise you at login and hold your session securely for the length of your visit.
- Personalisation: To recall your preferences, settings and language choices so the experience fits you.
- Performance and Analytics: To see how people use the Platform, find what needs improving and measure how well our features work.
- Marketing and Communications: To deliver relevant promotional content and gauge campaign performance — only where you have consented.
- Compliance: To keep the records financial regulations and privacy law require of us.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
Elitarion uses the following cookie categories on the Platform:
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential to the Platform and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to something you do — logging in, completing a form, setting your privacy preferences. Without them, core features such as account access and transaction processing would be unavailable.
They store no personally identifiable information and are never used for marketing.
- Session Management: Holds your login session and keeps you authenticated as you move between pages.
- Security Tokens: Creates and checks CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) tokens that shield your account from malicious requests.
- Load Balancing: Spreads traffic across our servers so performance stays even.
- Cookie Consent: Remembers your cookie choices so we need not ask again on every visit.
- Two-Factor Authentication: Supports the 2FA process during login and withdrawal requests.
3.2 Performance and Analytics Cookies
These cookies gather information on how people use the Platform — which pages are opened most, how long each visit lasts, whether any error appears. Everything collected is aggregated and anonymised, so it cannot identify an individual user.
We use that insight to keep improving the performance, reliability and usability of the Elitarion Platform.
- Page View Tracking: Records which pages and features are opened most often.
- Session Duration: Measures how long each visit to the Platform lasts.
- Error Logging: Captures technical errors and performance problems for maintenance.
- Traffic Source Analysis: Shows how visitors reach the Platform (search engine, direct link or referral).
- Conversion Tracking: Measures completion of key actions such as registration, deposit and withdrawal requests.
Analytics cookies are set both by Elitarion and by trusted third-party analytics providers, Google Analytics included. Those providers process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
3.3 Functional Cookies
Functional cookies let the Platform offer enhanced features and personalisation drawn from your earlier visits. They recall choices you have made — display language, currency, dashboard layout — so you need not set them again each time.
- Language Preferences: Stores the display language you prefer.
- Currency Display: Recalls the currency you want balances and transactions shown in.
- Dashboard Customisation: Keeps your layout and display choices inside the trading dashboard.
- Notification Preferences: Stores your communication and alert settings.
- Accessibility Settings: Remembers any accessibility adjustment you have made to the interface.
Turning functional cookies off will not lock you out of the Platform, but some features may behave differently and your preferences will not carry between sessions.
3.4 Security and Fraud Prevention Cookies
These cookies do critical work protecting the Elitarion Platform and its users from security threats, fraud and abuse. They are used to:
- Spot and stop unauthorised or suspicious login attempts.
- Recognise and block bot traffic, automated scraping and DDoS attacks.
- Watch for unusual account activity or transaction patterns that may point to fraud.
- Support our AML (Anti-Money Laundering) monitoring duties by following transaction behaviour.
- Check device integrity and flag devices tied to earlier fraudulent activity.
Security cookies may gather device fingerprint data, IP addresses and behavioural signals. That data is processed purely for security and compliance and never for marketing.
3.5 Marketing and Targeting Cookies
Marketing cookies deliver promotional content and advertising matched to your interests. They follow your activity across the Elitarion Platform and, where relevant, across third-party sites, to build a picture of what interests you and serve content accordingly.
They are placed on your device only where you have given explicit consent through our cookie preference centre, and you may withdraw that consent at any time.
- Retargeting Cookies: Let us show Elitarion advertising to people who have visited the Platform before, on third-party sites and social media.
- Campaign Performance Cookies: Measure how our marketing campaigns perform by tracking clicks, impressions and conversions.
- Social Media Cookies: Set by social platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X and similar) when you use social sharing buttons or embedded content on the Platform.
- Affiliate Tracking Cookies: Follow referrals from our affiliate and partner network so registrations and conversions are attributed correctly.
Third-party marketing cookies fall under the privacy policies of the providers concerned. Elitarion does not control them and encourages you to read the privacy policy of any third-party provider whose cookies may land on your device.
3.6 Third-Party Cookies
Besides cookies set directly by Elitarion, some third-party services built into the Platform may set their own. Those third parties include:
- Google Analytics: For traffic analysis and user behaviour reporting.
- Google Tag Manager: For managing and deploying marketing and analytics tags.
- Facebook Pixel: For tracking conversions from Facebook advertising campaigns.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag: For measuring LinkedIn advertising performance.
- Intercom / Live Chat Providers: For delivering customer support inside the Platform.
- Payment Processors: For securing and processing financial transactions.
- Identity Verification Providers: For KYC and AML compliance checks.
Elitarion has no control over third-party cookies and is not responsible for what third-party providers collect. We recommend reviewing the cookie and privacy policy of each third-party service for the full picture.
4. Cookie Duration
By lifespan, cookies are either session cookies or persistent cookies:
- Session Cookies: Temporary files that live only as long as your browsing session. They are removed automatically once you close the browser and are used mainly for authentication and security.
- Persistent Cookies: Files that stay on your device for a set period after the session ends, or until you delete them. They are used to recall preferences, support analytics and deliver marketing content across visits.
The exact lifespan of each cookie on the Elitarion Platform is listed in our cookie preference centre, reachable from the footer of our website.
5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
Elitarion respects your right to decide how cookies are used on your device. You have several ways to manage that:
5.1 Cookie Preference Centre
On your first visit to the Elitarion Platform a cookie consent banner appears, letting you accept everything, refuse all non-essential cookies, or set your preferences category by category. You can change those choices at any time through our Cookie Preference Centre, reachable from the "Cookie Settings" link in the website footer.
5.2 Browser Settings
Most browsers let you control cookies from their settings. Typically you can set your browser to:
- Block every cookie.
- Block third-party cookies only.
- Delete all existing cookies from your device.
- Warn you each time a cookie is set.
- Accept cookies only from named websites.
Instructions for the most widely used browsers are here:
- Google Chrome: chrome://settings/cookies
- Mozilla Firefox: about:preferences#privacy
- Apple Safari: Safari Preferences → Privacy
- Microsoft Edge: edge://settings/privacy
- Opera: opera://settings/cookies
Bear in mind that restricting cookies can affect how the Elitarion Platform behaves. Blocking strictly necessary cookies in particular will stop you logging in or using core features at all.
5.3 Opting Out of Analytics Cookies
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, which stops Google Analytics collecting data about your visits to the Platform.
5.4 Opting Out of Marketing Cookies
You can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through these industry tools:
- Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (AdChoices): youradchoices.ca
- Network Advertising Initiative (NAI): optout.networkadvertising.org
- Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA): optout.aboutads.info
Note that opting out of marketing cookies does not mean advertising disappears — it means the advertising you see will no longer be matched to your interests.
6. Cookies and Personal Data
Some cookies on the Elitarion Platform may collect or process personal data — IP addresses, device identifiers or browsing behaviour — capable of identifying you directly or indirectly. Where that happens, the collection and processing is governed by our Privacy Policy and carried out in line with PIPEDA, BC PIPA and other applicable privacy legislation.
We process cookie-related personal data on these grounds:
- Legitimate Business Purposes: For strictly necessary, security and performance cookies the Platform cannot run without.
- Consent: For functional, analytics and marketing cookies, where you have given explicit consent through our cookie preference centre.
You may withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time through the Cookie Preference Centre, without affecting the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal.
7. International Transfers of Cookie Data
Some of our third-party cookie providers may process data in countries outside Canada. Where that occurs we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place — standard contractual protections or equivalent mechanisms — so your data is protected to the standard PIPEDA requires.
For more on international data transfers, see our Privacy Policy.
8. Updates to This Cookie Policy
Elitarion may update or amend this Cookie Policy at any time to reflect changes in how we use cookies, in the law, or in industry practice. Where a change is material we will publish the revised policy on this page and, where appropriate, show a fresh cookie consent banner or email you.
We encourage you to look over this Cookie Policy from time to time so you stay aware of how cookies are used and how to manage your preferences. The date of the latest revision always appears at the top of this page.
Continuing to use the Elitarion Platform after an update means you accept the revised terms.
